Dhamaal 4 Review: After the underperformance of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari-starrer Alpha last week, Bollywood has witnessed the release of another biggie, Dhamaal 4, today (July 10). Featuring Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, and Jaaved Jaaferi, it is the fourth installment in the Dhamaal franchise, but, sadly, the latest film completely failed to recreate the magic of the OG movie.

Is Dhamaal 4 an entertaining watch? Will the franchise bounce back after the third part failed to meet expectations? Well, to know that, let's take a look at the review here.

DHAMAAL 4 STORY REVIEW: HERE'S WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE FILM

The story of Dhamaal 4 revolves around a hidden treasure under a mysterious"M." Ajay Devgn plays Guddu, while Riteish Deshmukh essays the role of Lallan. Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi return as the fan-favourite duo Adi and Manav. Anjali Anand plays Paro, Lallan's love interest, while Sanjeeda Shaikh is seen as Adi's wife Rosie. Ravi Kishan appears as Adhoora, a dangerous pirate determined to get his hands on the treasure before anyone else.

As expected, the story follows these characters as they cross paths and embark on a chaotic race filled with obstacles, misunderstandings, and comic situations. Who eventually finds the treasure is something the film keeps for the audience to discover.

The franchise has always been about switching off your brain and enjoying the over-the-top comedy. Unfortunately, Dhamaal 4 struggles to entertain the audience and ends up becoming a missed opportunity.

The basic idea reminds you of the first Dhamaal, but this time the writing lacks excitement. The screenplay never really builds momentum, and several scenes that should have been laugh-out-loud moments simply fall flat.

Another disappointing aspect is the film's dependence on body-shaming jokes. Comedy has evolved over the years, and audiences today expect smarter humour. Instead of creating genuinely funny situations, the film often falls back on outdated jokes that don't leave much of an impact.

The first half spends a lot of time introducing the characters and setting up the treasure hunt. Things improve slightly after the interval as the chase begins, but even then, the film never reaches the entertaining highs expected from a Dhamaal movie. There are a few moments that make you smile, but they are too few to keep the momentum alive.

DHAMAAL 4 PERFORMANCE REVIEW

Performance-wise, there isn't much to complain about when the biggest issue lies with the writing. Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Ravi Kishan, and Sanjay Mishra all have amazing comic timing and sincerely try to make the content work. Sadly, the weak script doesn't give them enough memorable scenes.

Sanjay Mishra manages to stand out whenever he appears and provides some of the film's better moments. Anjali Anand and Sanjeeda Shaikh perform their roles well, while Esha Gupta has only a limited presence.

DHAMAAL 4 REVIEW: OVERALL VERDICT

Overall, Dhamaal 4 turns out to be a disappointing addition to the franchise. The talented cast does everything it can, but weak writing, outdated humour, and an underwhelming screenplay hold the film back. Surprisingly, it ends up being less entertaining than Welcome To The Jungle, which itself was only an average comedy.
