Jitesh Dang On His Journey: Jitesh Dang, better known by his stage name Super Dang, opens up on his journey from being India's No.1 DJ to creating viral tracks like 'Filmy Saiyaan' and 'Karo Bang Bang'.
On how Super Dang started, "Before I talk about how Super Dang started, let me take you back to where my music journey actually began. I started as a DJ way back in 1996. Delhi didn't have too many clubs back then, so I mostly played at private parties. Those early days were full of hustle, but I loved every second of it," says Dang. "The real turning point came in 2007 when I won the National DJ Championship and was crowned India's No.1 DJ. The next year, I got to represent India at the Asian DJ Championship. That experience gave me so much confidence and belief in myself. I realized I wanted to create something of my own instead of just playing other people's music." "That's when I started producing my own tracks. While making the music, I naturally began writing lyrics too, and eventually performing my own songs." On the name Super Dang, "As for the name Super Dang, it's actually pretty simple and personal. Dang is my surname, and Super comes from my childhood obsession with Superman. I just combined the two, and Super Dang was born," he laughs. On 'Karo Bang Bang' and finding his sound: "When I first started producing music, I was mostly making remixes and cover songs. That helped me learn the craft and understand what kind of sound I wanted to create." "One day, while working in my studio, I came up with a tune that felt fresh and different. I shared it with my friend DSync, and together we wrote the lyrics. The song started coming together really well, so I decided to shoot a proper music video." "After my first original song, Filmy Saiyaan, Karo Bang Bang became my next release. I approached Zee Music with it, and they loved the track and picked it up." On moving from Delhi to Dubai: "Well, I shifted to Dubai so I could earn more money and invest it in my music career. Haha... just kidding," he quips. "Jokes apart, I'm an entrepreneur and I'm involved in multiple businesses, so moving to Dubai was mainly a business decision. Thankfully, over the years, most of my work has become quite stable and runs smoothly, which gives me more time to focus on what I truly enjoy: music." "I'm now working on finishing the songs that have been waiting for a long time. Hopefully, you'll be hearing a lot of new music from me soon, along with music videos. And this time, I'll definitely have a much better marketing plan behind every release." Super Dang's tracks 'Filmy Saiyaan' and 'Karo Bang Bang' are streaming on all major platforms.More Articles
