Mahendran, who is also Anirudh's uncle, spoke about the reported relationship during a recent interview. He said he had been told that Anirudh and Kavya Maran were planning to get married and also congratulated the composer in advance. Mahendran also spoke positively about Kavya, describing her as a capable leader and saying they would make a good pair. Despite those remarks, there has been no confirmation from Anirudh or Kavya themselves.
