The Tamil sports romantic comedy-drama, which hit theatres on July 3, 2026, has now completed nine days at the box office, while its Day 10 (Sunday, July 12) performance is currently underway.
According to box office tracking website Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated ₹3.20 crore India net on Day 9, registering an improvement over its second Friday collection. The latest figures have taken the film's total India net collection to ₹26.95 crore. Based on the reported estimates, the movie has also accumulated an India gross of ₹30.94 crore. In overseas markets, it added ₹1 crore gross on its ninth day, pushing the international total to ₹7.25 crore. With these figures, the film's estimated worldwide gross stands at ₹38.19 crore after nine days in theatres. The film opened with ₹2.70 crore on its first Friday before witnessing growth over the opening weekend. It collected ₹4.95 crore on Saturday and ₹6.20 crore on Sunday, closing its first weekend on a strong note. Like many theatrical releases, collections dipped during the weekdays, with daily earnings ranging between ₹1.75 crore and ₹2.35 crore. The film concluded its first week with an India net total of ₹22.10 crore. Its second weekend began with ₹1.65 crore on Day 8 (Friday) before rising to ₹3.20 crore on Day 9, indicating increased footfalls on Saturday. Gatta Kusthi 2 opened with ₹2.70 crore on Day 1 (Friday), followed by ₹4.95 crore on Day 2 (Saturday) and ₹6.20 crore on Day 3 (Sunday). The film then collected ₹2.35 crore on Day 4 (Monday), ₹2.20 crore on Day 5 (Tuesday), ₹1.95 crore on Day 6 (Wednesday), and ₹1.75 crore on Day 7 (Thursday), taking its first-week India net total to ₹22.10 crore. In its second week, the sequel earned ₹1.65 crore on Day 8 (Friday) and ₹3.20 crore on Day 9 (Saturday), pushing its total India net collection to ₹26.95 crore, according to Sacnilk estimates. The sequel is written and directed by Chella Ayyavu and serves as a follow-up to the 2022 film Gatta Kusthi. It has been jointly produced by Ishari K. Ganesh, Vishnu Vishal, and Ishan Saksena under the banners Vels Film International, Vishnu Vishal Studioz, and IVY Entertainment. The film revolves around a stay-at-home husband whose commitment to his family is challenged when misunderstandings and social expectations begin affecting his personal life. Blending family drama, romance, comedy and sports elements, the sequel follows a new chapter in the story.
