Idhayam Murali Box Office Collection Day 6: Atharvaa's Tamil coming-of-age romantic drama Idhayam Murali continued its run in theatres on Wednesday, July 15, with the film posting a marginal increase in collections over the previous day. Written, directed and produced by debutant Aakash Baskaran under the Dawn Pictures banner, the film was released on July 10 and features Kayadu Lohar and Preity Mukhundhan in key roles alongside an ensemble cast.
According to box office tracking website Sacnilk, Idhayam Murali collected an estimated ₹1.25 crore India net on Day 6. The figure is 1.6% higher than its Day 5 collection of ₹1.23 crore, indicating that the film maintained a relatively steady performance during the weekdays. With the latest collections included, the film's total India net earnings stand at ₹13.18 crore, while its India gross collection has reached ₹15.16 crore. The overseas market has contributed ₹4 crore gross so far, taking the film's worldwide gross collection to ₹19.16 crore after six days in theatres. The film witnessed its strongest performance during the opening weekend. It opened with ₹1.90 crore on Friday before collections rose to ₹3.50 crore on Saturday and peaked at ₹3.80 crore on Sunday. As expected, earnings dipped after the weekend, with the film collecting ₹1.50 crore on Monday and ₹1.23 crore on Tuesday. Wednesday's ₹1.25 crore marked a slight improvement over the previous day's figure. According to Sacnilk, occupancy followed a similar pattern through the week. The film recorded 30% occupancy on its opening day, which increased to 43% on Saturday and 46% on Sunday. Weekday occupancy then eased to 24% on Monday, 22% on Tuesday and 20% on Wednesday. Idhayam Murali stars Atharvaa in the title role alongside Kayadu Lohar, Preity Mukhundhan, Natty Subramaniam, Ramki, Thaman S, Niharika NM, Rakshan, Dravid Selvam, Sudhakar, Pragya Nagra and others. Fahadh Faasil also appears in a cameo role. The film marks the directorial debut of Aakash Baskaran and also sees composer Thaman S return to acting after more than two decades. The film's music has been composed by Thaman S, while cinematography is handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and CH Sai. Pradeep E. Ragav serves as the editor, with M.R. Karthik Rajkumar overseeing production design. The dialogues are written by Ramanagirivasan, with additional dialogues by Aakash Baskaran and Dravid Selvam. With the first week nearing completion, Idhayam Murali is approaching the ₹20 crore worldwide gross milestone.
