For overseas audiences, reports suggest that the USA premiere shows will take place on July 22 at 8:30 pm EST, which corresponds to 6 am IST on July 23. According to the reported timings, the USA premieres and the first shows in India correspond to the same point in time across their respective time zones.

KVN Productions, on July 15, officially announced that the film would arrive in cinemas worldwide on July 23, ending months of speculation over its theatrical plans.

Jana Nayagan was originally positioned as Vijay's final film before his full-time political transition and was initially scheduled to release ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Following months of certification delays, the film is now set to reach theatres after Vijay has assumed office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan stars Vijay in the lead role alongside Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, and Narain. The film's music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Pradeep E. Ragav.

Initially slated for a January 9, 2026 release, Jana Nayagan was postponed after its certification process encountered delays.
