Jana Nayagan Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 5: Thalapahty Vijay's massive fan following have been grinning ear to ear lately and for all the right reasons. After all, the superstar's swansong Jana Nayagan has finally hit the screens after much of a delay. For the uninitiated, the political action drama marks Thalapathy Vijay's last film before beginning his political career and the current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has been winning hearts with his final performance on the big screen.
Interestingly, apart from being Thalapathy Vijay's final performance on the big screen, this H Vinoth directorial has also been grabbing eyeballs for its stellar cast which also included Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde and Mamitha Baiju alongside Nassar, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, and Priyamani. To note, Jana Nayagan also marks Thalapathy Vijay's first collaboration with director H Vinoth and was released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi language. Jana Nayagan witnessed a grand start at the box office and had managed to enter the coveted Rs 200cr club during the opening weekend. However, the first Monday came with a significant dip in numbers. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Jana Nayagan saw a dip of 60% in numbers in the overseas market and earned Rs 4cr on day 5 (first Monday) which took the overall collection Rs 75.5cr. On the other hand, the total worldwide collection of Jana Nayagan emerged as Rs 233.24cr after 5 days of release Day 1 - Rs 27.5cr Interestingly, with a total worldwide collection of Rs 233.24cr, Jana Nayagan has managed to beat the lifetime worldwide collection of Thalapathy Vijay's Master which was around Rs 225.88cr and emerges as the superstar's 7th highest grossing globally. Meanwhile, talking about the box office expectations regarding Jana Nayagan, director H Vinoth told NDTV, "At any point in cinema history if you see only 10% of films will succeed. The success ratio in any industry is only 10 to 20%. Cinema is no different. The intention of any creator / filmmaker/ director is pure and they try sincerely to make a good film. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Today, we see films being re-released after 10 years or 20 years and being celebrated. For instance, a number of Mani Ratnam sir's films didn't do well in theatres, like Nayakan.
