Filmibeat Exclusive: Abhishek Sharrma has carved a place for himself with his portrayal of Devansh in Vasudha, which airs on Zee TV. The daily soap has maintained its position among the highest-rated shows on Hindi television, making him one of the familiar faces on the small screen today. WILL TEMPORARY TRP SUSPENSION AFFECT TV SHOWS AND ACTORS?

When asked if the TRP pause gives teams the freedom to experiment without worrying about weekly ratings, Abhishek Sharrma made it clear that Vasudha has never been driven by numbers. "We have always had a fixed vision for our show. From the beginning, we never thought about the TRP game. Our focus has always been on being honest with our performances, the vision and the storyline," he said in an exclusive chat with Filmibeat Assistant Editor Abhishek Sharma.

The actor added that experimentation has always been a part of the show's journey, but never because of ratings.

"Yes, we keep experimenting, but it has never been because of TRPs. If we start thinking only about ratings, it can affect our vision and our performances. That kind of pressure has never come from the production or direction team. It was never about doing something just for TRPs. You can experiment anytime, whether the ratings pressure is there or not. We have always believed in that."

ABHISHEK SHARRMA SHARES VIEWS ON IMPACT OF TRP PAUSE

Sharing his thoughts on the overall impact of the temporary TRP pause, Abhishek said it has not changed the way he approaches his work. According to him, actors should remain focused on their performances, while audience appreciation can be seen through several other platforms.

"It doesn't affect me at all. If I talk about myself, nothing has changed because it has never been the way I work. Of course, when many shows are doing well, there has to be some way to measure their performance, and TRP is a strong indicator. Right now, that measure is missing, but we still receive the audience's love through Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and comments."

He, however, acknowledged that ratings continue to play an important role from a business perspective.

Abhishek said, "On the business side, the industry will keep focusing on creating engaging content and maintaining consistency. Once the ratings return, they will simply become another way of understanding how the audience has responded."

Abhishek also revealed that there has been no discussion within the Vasudha team regarding the TRP pause. Instead, everyone continues to stay focused on delivering their best every day.

"There has not been any conversation about ratings. We never discuss them. Our only focus is on our work. The message has always been simple - stay focused, trust the story and give your 100% every single day on set. The entire team believes that if we remain honest to our characters and the narrative, everything else will eventually fall into place. That is the approach we continue to follow," he concluded.
