YEH RISHTA KYA KEHLATA HAI JULY 17 WRITTEN UPDATE: HERE'S WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN TODAY'S EPISODE?

Although disappointed, Armaan gracefully accepts the decision and apologises to both Maira and Mukti for letting them down. Maira reassures him that it is alright because they had already lost the round. Abhira (Samridhii Shukla), however, comforts Armaan by pointing out that his determination and honesty mattered more than the result. She tells him that she can clearly see how much he has changed for the better.

Later, Armaan tells Abhira that Bhanu was so upset after the incident that he completely refused to speak with her. Meanwhile, Sanjay confidently declares that Abhira is bound to lose the court case because Bhanu is unwilling to testify in her favour.

Elsewhere at the picnic venue, a group of girls begin bullying another young girl. Myra immediately steps in and defends the victim. Tanya taunts Myra, saying that she is ruining everyone's fun by interfering. At the same time, Kaveri encourages Abhira to participate in the next family competition. Abhira refuses, saying she has no interest in games when Bhanu's refusal to testify could destroy her legal case. Kaveri asks whether Bhanu would change his mind if she stayed away from the competition, but Armaan insists that Abhira should stop worrying for a while and participate.

Soon, Abhira teams up with Shipra for the next challenge while Armaan and Bhanu stand beside them to help. The host announces a multitasking competition designed to prove women's efficiency and balance. Abhira performs brilliantly, completes every task with confidence, and eventually wins the competition, bringing smiles to her family members.

However, the celebratory mood is shattered when Mukti notices the same group of bully girls approaching Maira. She immediately rushes to protect her friend. In the scuffle, the girls brutally cut Mukti's long hair before running away.

Mukti is left devastated as she sees her chopped hair scattered across the floor. Overcome with shock and humiliation, she wraps a scarf around her head and refuses to let anyone see her face. Myra tries to comfort her, but Mukti pushes her away, saying she cannot bear for anyone to look at her anymore.

Hearing the commotion, Armaan and Abhira rush to Mukti. They gently console her and try to reassure her that everything will be alright. After calming her down, they help reveal her new hairstyle. Krish encourages Mukti by reminding her that hair eventually grows back and that it should never define a person's worth. Maira wholeheartedly agrees, telling Mukti that appearances are never as important as the person within.

Still deeply hurt, Mukti challenges Maira. If hair truly doesn't matter, she asks, would Maira be willing to cut her own hair too? Maira is stunned by the unexpected question.
Abhira lovingly tells Mukti that she still looks beautiful, while Armaan promises to call the best hairstylist to help fix her hair. But Mukti refuses every suggestion, insisting that she does not want to go anywhere. Determined to prove that friendship is more important than appearances, Maira makes a heartfelt decision and agrees to cut her own hair. Her selfless gesture leaves everyone emotional.

Despite Maira's sacrifice, Mukti breaks down emotionally. She confesses that she already feels different from the Poddar family and fears that everyone will eventually realise she doesn't resemble either Armaan or Abhira. Her insecurity about not looking like her parents leaves the family speechless.

Just then, Bhanu arrives with an unexpected revelation. He tells the Poddars that it was Maira and Mukti who courageously saved his daughter earlier. Deeply moved by their kindness and bravery, Bhanu decides to do the right thing and announces that he will testify in favour of the Malhotras in court.

The entire Poddar family is overjoyed by Bhanu's decision. Armaan and Abhira sincerely thank both Maira and Mukti, believing that their compassion has changed Bhanu's heart. Abhira hugs Mukti and lovingly tells her never to think that she is anything less than their daughter. One by one, the Poddars shower Mukti with affection and reassurance, helping her regain her confidence.

Meanwhile, Kajal notices Sanjay silently watching the emotional family reunion from a distance. Irritated by his behaviour, she asks why he is standing there enjoying the family's drama instead of leaving. She firmly tells him to return to his room.
