At the age of 64, the actor passed away, he is survived by his wife and three daughters. His wife, Rima Amrapurkar said, "He passed away at 2.45 (a.m.)."
"His cremation will take place in his hometown Ahmed Nagar tomorrow. Today (Monday) his body will be kept at the Bhaidas Auditorium for the people to pay their last respect," his daughter said.
Not the just the Bollywood industry even Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the actor's death. "We will remember Sadashiv Amrapurkar as a versatile actor, popular across generations. RIP. My deepest condolences to his family," Modi tweeted.
Actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar is a great veteran actor of Bollywood, who twice won the Filmfare awards for his captivating performances in 1984, he won the award for the best supporting actor for Ardh Satya and in 1991, the best villain trophy for his portrayal of a ruthless eunuch in Sadak.
The actor is also known for his scintillating performances in Mr. India, Aankhen, Ishq, Coolie No. 1 and Gupt: The Hidden Truth among others. He later shifted his focus on Marathi movies. Amrapurkar was last seen on the big screen in 2012 film Bombay Talkies. He had become selective and was more into social work in last few years. He died early Monday after he was hospitalized following a lung infection revealed his daughter.
His family also revealed that his last rites will be performed in his native place in Ahmednagar district tomorrow. Sadly no one expected such a sad demise of actor, he is loved and remembered by all.
