The Scam 1992 and Scoop fame director took to Instagram and announced that along with Tom, the international star cast also includes Libby Mai, Molly Wright, Ralph Adeniyi, James Murray, Lindon Alexander, Jonno Davies, Simon Lennon for the much anticipated series. He announced, "We're in the thick of our shoot. Thrilled to be directing this stellar international cast - Tom Felton, Libby Mai, Molly Wright, Ralph Adeniyi, James Murray, Lindon Alexander, Jonno Davies, Simon Lennon."

Actor Pratik Gandhi will be portraying the titular role of Mahatma Gandhi in the show while Bhamini Oza will essay the role of Kasturba Gandhi. The series is based on author Ramachandra Guha's books- Gandhi before India and Gandhi: The Years that Changed the World. Backed by Applause Entertainment, Gandhi will be shot at various Indian and foreign locations.
