Recently, the director revealed the reason of him following the same. He said to Pinkvilla in his latest interview that the 'strained' relationship shown between Nawab Tajdar Baloch and Ashfaq Baloch in Heeramandi is inspired by his own life. Talking about the same, he said, "Thank God that I'm a filmmaker because I am able to express those various feelings and one of them is the fathers sons relationships are always strained, they are also friendly, but there is always a difference of opinion and that is what makes characters."

Well, for the unversed, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's father, Navin, was an alcoholic and died due to liver cirrhosis. In his earlier interviews, Bhansali revealed that it was his way of showing gratitude to his mother for what she has done for him.
