Baabul is superb in U.K

Baabul has stormed the U.K. charts, fetching an impressive start in its opening weekend. In terms of screen average, the film is better than Rang De Basanti [£ 5,822], Humko Deewana Kar Gaye [£ 4,604], Phir Hera Pheri [£ 3,482], Krrish [£ 4,576], Lage Raho Munnabhai [£ 6,136], Don [£ 5,715] and Umrao Jaan [£ 3,487]. At the rate it's faring, Baabul should easily cross the entire business of Baghban in U.K. [£ 748,028] in a few weeks from now. In Australia, Baabul has had a good average start.

Meanwhile, the biggest hit of the season, Dhoom 2, has crossed Rs. 21.75 crores [gross] from the five markets -- U.K., U.S.A., Australia, New Zealand and Netherlands [see figures below]. Phenomenal!

• Baabul has debuted at No. 8 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 289,907 [approx. Rs. 2.53 crores] on 45 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 6,442.
