Realistic Movies bites the dust overseas!

Hardcore realistic films sans face-value don't find many takers in Overseas. Last week's Traffic Signal [U.K.] and this week's Black Friday [U.S.A.] prove this theory right. Despite tremendous appreciation, Black Friday has failed to generate a decent initial in the U.S. Meanwhile, all eyes are on Eklavya - The Royal Guard, the third biggie of 2007 [after Guru and Salaam-E-Ishq], which is expected to fetch a big start!

U.K. BOX-OFFICE

  • Salaam-E-Ishq [last weekend: No. 14, this weekend: No. 19]: In its third weekend, the film has collected £ 66,298 on 43 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 1,542. Total: £ 703,398 [approx. Rs. 6.06 crores].
    The breakdown:- Friday: £ 10,743; Saturday: £ 29,244; Sunday: £ 26,311; Monday: £ 10,676.

  • Guru [last weekend: No. 26, this weekend: No. 35]: In its fifth weekend, the film has collected £ 8,820 on 15 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 588. Total: £ 489,840 [approx. Rs. 4.22 crores].
    The breakdown:- Friday: £ 785; Saturday: £ 3,658; Sunday: £ 4,377; Monday: £ 1,024.

  • Guru [Tamil; last weekend: No. --, this weekend: No. 65]: In its second weekend, the film has collected £ 594 on 1 screen. Total: £ 6,375 [approx. Rs. 5.49 lacs].
