Controversy or no controversy Aamir Khan starer 3 Idiots is shattering all records. The Raj Kumar Hirani directed movie which had crossed the 100 Crore mark in just 4 days has earned Rs.240 Crores till its second week. The movie has become the highest grosser in the history of Bollywood surpassing the records set by Ghajini last year which had grossed Rs. 200 Crores in it's entire run. No film since than has come anywhere close to it either.
Reliance BIG Entertainment which distributed the movie is laughing its way to the bank as the multiplexes are still screening an average of 10 houseful shows a day. 3 Idiots had opened in 1,350 theatres in India and 366 screens worldwide making it the widest release in the history of Bollywood. The Raj Kumar Hirani directed movie is seeing repeat audience in many centres, a thing which is unheard of these days.
3 Idiots which has been produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra has had its share of controversy when Five Point Someone author Chetan Bhagat claimed that he wasn't duly credited as the movie was based on his book. But this controversy hasn't been able to dent the performance of the movie in the theatres. Analysts are optimistic that 3 Idiots might break the Rs 300 Crores barier which no Bollywood movie has been able to achieve so far.
