Shahrukh
Khan's
much-hyped
movie
Don
2
has
got
a
good
opening
at
the
Box
Office
in
India.
The
action
thriller
film
has
grossed
approximately
Rs
48.39
crore
net
at
the
collection
centres
in
the
first
weekend.
But
its
business
is
not
up
to
the
mark
when
compared
to
its
volume
of
release
across
the
country.
Don
2
opened
to
huge
response
at
multiplexes
and
an
average
occupancy
at
single
screens
all
over
India
on
Friday,
December
23.
The
movie
collected
Rs
15.3
crore
at
Box
Office
on
the
first
day
from
three
versions
like
Hindi,
Tamil
and
Telugu.
With
this
collection,
the
film
became
the
third
highest
opening
day
grosser
and
the
highest
opening
day
grosser
ever
on
a
non-holiday
Friday.
The
business
of
Don
2
was
expected
to
improve,
but
it
fell
down
on
Saturday.
The
Shahrukh-Priyanka
starrer
collected
Rs
15.09
crore
at
Box
Office
on
its
second
day.
The
film
managed
to
grow
around
20-25%
on
its
third
day
with
its
collection
crossing
more
than
Rs
18
crore
net.
But
the
movie
has
failed
to
cross
Rs
50
crore
mark
in
the
first
weekend.
However,
the
volume
of
theatrical
release
of
Don
2,
which
graced
3,103
screens
across
the
country,
is
bigger
than
the
biggest
releases
of
year
2011
like
Ra.One
and
Bodyguard.
But
its
collection
is
not
even
half
of
what
Ra.One
and
Bodyguard
have
earned.
One
reason
for
it
is
that
the
latter
movies
had
five-day
weekend,
while
Don
2
had
non-holiday
three-day
weekend.
But
Don
2
could
have
performed
even
better
at
the
Box
Office,
but
it
has
failed
at
the
collection
centres.
