Double Dhamaal opens with 25.67 cr at Box Office

Looks like comedy is the success mantra of Bollywood right now, while Ready, a romantic comedy, ruled the Box Office for three consecutive weeks, last weekend it was Double Dhamaal, which led to a huge success. Ironically, both the films, Ready and Double Dhamaal, were criticized by a majority of critics. However, looks like the movie goers are actually enjoying the nonsense cinema, which aims at entertaining the audience only. Director Indra Kumar"s film Double Dhamaal opened to good numbers in the first weekend.

The film opened on Friday with a collection of Rs 7.65 crore. The figure shot on Saturday to Rs. 8.11 crore, and on Sunday it grossed Rs 9.91 crore. The total first-weekend collection of the film totals to Rs. 25.67 crores. This is a great number achieved by Double Dhamaal, which doesn't have a crowd pulling star attached to its name, Sanjay Dutt is an absolute exception.

Double Dhamaal is expected to retain its hold during the weekdays, however unlike Ready the film might see a slump from Friday onwards, as two of the biggies, Delhi Belly and Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap, will hit the theaters this coming weekend (1st July, 2011).
