Murder 2 earns 22 crores in its opening weekend

Last week's release Murder 2 and Chillar Party got totally opposite response at the Box Office. While Murder 2 managed to get around 70 to 75 percent of footfalls, Chillar Party was able to only attract 20 to 25 percent of the audience.

In the first weekend, Murder 2 (8 July – 10 July) collected around Rs. 22.7 crore approx all over India. The Emraan Hashmi, Jacqueline Fernandez starrer saw a good opening on Friday. The film collected Rs. 7.1 crore (Rs 71 million) on its opening day. However, the collections dropped slightly on Saturday to Rs. 6.6 crore. But on Sunday it went up to Rs. 9 crore. The business done by Murder 2 can be considered as excellent, especially after considering the low cost of the film.

Salman Khan Production Chillar Party failed to work wonders at the Box Office. In spite of some strong promotions by Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor's item number, the film couldn't do well at the Box Office.
