Cocktail collects Rs 71 crs at Box Office in two weeks

Bollywood movie Cocktail, which was released on July, collected Rs 17.8 crore nett at the Box Office in the second week taking its 14-day total to Rs 71 crore nett. The romantic comedy was expected to surpass Rs 75 crore mark in this week, but its collection was affected by the grand release of the Hollywood movie The Dark Knight Rises in India.

Cocktail received a grand opening on the first day with its occupancy ranging between 95% and 100% at multiplexes across the country. Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer collected Rs 36 crore nett in the first weekend. The movie added another Rs 18 crore to its first week total collection Rs 54 crore nett.

Seeing its wonderful performanceat the Box Office, trade analyst felt that Cocktail would cross Rs 75 crore mark in the second weekend. But the movie could not even reach half of their expectations. It raked in Rs 12.25 crore nett thereby taking its 10-day total to Rs 66.25 crores nett. The movie was being screened in large number of multiplexes, where its business was affected by The Dark Knight Rises in the weekend.

The business of the movie Cocktail went down further in the weekdays. The film added Rs 5.30 crores nett to its 14-day total Rs 71 crore nett. The breakup of its second week collection is Rs 3 cr on Fri, Rs 4.25 cr on Sat, Rs 5.25 cr on Sun, Rs 1.60 cr on Mon, Rs 1.40 cr on Tue, Rs 1.20 cr on Wed and Rs 1.10 cr on Thu.

However, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum, which is sequel to hit movie Kya Cool Hain Hum, has hit the screens across India today. The movie is one of the most-awaited films. So trade analyst feel that it is surely going to send the down the business of Cocktail at the Box Office.
