English Vinglish beats OMG Oh My God at overseas Box Office

Sridevi's comeback film English Vinglish has done a wonderful business at the overseas Box Office in the first weekend. It has received better response than Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal starrer OMG Oh My God. Its three days collection in the international market is almost equal to the 10-day total of the latter. It has fared exceptionally well in collection centres in USA, UAE, UK and Australia.

OMG Oh My God had collected Rs 1.24 crores (£1,45,512) at the UK Box Office in its opening weekend and its 10-day total is Rs 2.38 crores (£2,84,681). Whereas, new release English Vinglish had a slow start in the country, but had excellent growth on the following days. The movie has raked in Rs 1.39 crores (£1,66,656) from 61 screens at the UK Box Office in the first weekend.

The Akshay-Paresh starrer film had collected Rs 1.78 crores ($3,40,028) from 70 screens at the USA Box Office in the first weekend and its ten day total is Rs 3.60 crores ($6,82,889). Sridevi starrer has beaten its ten day collection record in just three days. English Vinglish has collected Rs 3.92 crores ($7,45,414) from 88 screens at the USA Box Office in its opening weekend.

OMG Oh My God did not have release in UAE, but it had a record breaking opening in Australia and New Zealand. The Umesh Shukla directed movie has collected Rs 98.37 lakhs (A$1,86,721) and Rs 57.83 lakhs (NZ$1,36,354) respectively at Australia and New Zealand Box Offices in 10 days.

English Vinglish has a rocking start at the UAE Box Office with its first weekend collection reaching Rs 1.97 crores ($3,75,000). But the movie has done an average business in Australia and New Zealand when compared to OMG Oh My God. It has raked Rs 32.65 lakhs (A$61,973) from 11 screens at the Australia Box Office and Rs 6.06 lakhs (NZ$14,193) from 7 screens at the New Zealand Box Office in its opening weekend.

As per the records of Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, OMG Oh My God has collected approximately Rs 7.70 crores nett at the international Box Office in ten days. Whereas, Sridevi's English Vinglish has raked in Rs 7.59 crores nett at the overseas Box Office in the first weekend.
