Gangs Of Wasseypur beats Maximum at Box Office

Gangs Of Wasseypur, which was released on June 22, has been still faring well at the Box Office in India. The movie has added Rs 7.5 crores nett to its two weeks' total collection Rs 25.25 crores nett. The Anurag Kashyap directed film has beaten this week's new release Maximum, which stars Naseeruddin Shah, Sonu Sood, Neha Dhupia and Vinay Pathak in the lead roles.

Trade analysts had thought that the collection of Gangs Of Wasseypur, Teri Meri Kahani (TMK) and new release Maximum would be affected by the grand release of The Amazing Spider Man. As expected TMK and Maximum suffered a lot, but Gangs Of Wasseypur managed to do good business at the Box Office.

The Manoj Bajpayee starrer opened to a very low response, but it soon picked up well at the Box Office. Gangs Of Wasseypur collected Rs 17.75 crores nett in the first weekend. It grossed Rs 4.25 crores nett in the second weekend, while its weekdays collection was another Rs 3.25 crores nett.

However, Maximum, which is a medium budget movie, was badly affected by The Amazing Spider Man at the collection centres. The film collected Rs 2 crores nett at the Box Office in the first weekend. It added another Rs 1.5 crore nett to its first week total Rs 3.3 crores nett.
