Jab Tak Hai Jaan crosses Rs 100 crore mark at Indian Box Office

Last week's Hindi release Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ) starring Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in leads, has continued to keep the bells ringing at the Box Office in India in the second week too. The Yash Chopra directed movie has surpassed Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic collection centres on the 11th day.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan had collected Rs 98.41 crores nett at the domestic Box Office in the 10-day-extended first week. Since there were no big Hindi releases this weekend, the Shahrukh-Katrina-Anushka starrer was expected to do rocking business in the second week. But the movie showed 80% dip in its business on the second Friday, when compared to its first day collection.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan raked in Rs 2.75 crores nett at the desi Box Office, taking its 11-day total to Rs 101.16 crores nett. Many trade experts are surprised to hear the amount of decrease in its collection. Some say that its business was affected by Telugu movies Damarukam and Routine Love Story and Kannada movie Drama in the South India. Much talked about English movie Life of Pi, which released in India on 23, also took a toll on its collection.

However, the year 2012 has witnessed several Bollywood movies crossing Rs 100 crore mark at domestic Box Office. Among them, Ek Tha Tiger has become the fastest 100 crore grosser with its collection surpassing this mark in just five days. Now, Jab Tak Hai Jaan has become the second fastest 100 crore grosser in the year.
