Director Pooja Bhatt's comeback movie Jism 2 has opened to a very decent response at the Box Office in India. The A-rated romance thriller has topped the collection chart by beating other new releases like Krishna Aur Khans, Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hain and Shuttlecock on the first day of their release.
Jism 2 had paid previews on Thursday. It registered 50% to 65% occupancy across the country with its collection crossing Rs 1.05 crore. The movie managed to get the same amount of response on its opening day (Friday). As per the early estimates, it has collected Rs 4.5 to 5.5 crores at the Box Office on the first day. Trade analysts feel that it is a decent collection for an A-rated movie in the country.
The main reason for its huge opening is huge publicity including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube campaigns. The steamy and raunchy posters and videos had created a big hype about the movie. The movie buffs, who were interested to see the skin show of Sunny Leone swarmed in on the first day, but the movie failed to keep up their interests.
However, trade experts think that Jism 2 may not be able to get the same amount of response on Saturday and Sunday. They says that the initial hype will be over now and bad reviews, negative word of mouth and social media trends will have a disastrous effect on its Box Office collection. It should be seen whether the movie will be successful in retaining its first day response on the following days.
