Karan's Student Of The Year has terrific opening at Box Office

Bollywood movie Student of the Year, which is the most-anticipated film from Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, has opened to an overwhelming response at the Box Office in India and overseas. Despite having all newcomers in the lead, Karan mania has played a magic for it at the ticket windows. Early trends show that there is no doubt in it becoming another blockbuster of 2012.

Student of the Year, which stars Siddharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in leads, has an youth-oriented subject and it has been released during October holidays to woo the students and other family audience. The huge-hype and promotion of the movie had created a lot of curiosity among youth around the country. Hence, it has had a huge amount of advance ticket booking.

Student of the Year, which hit the screens across the globe today, received an earth-shattering response at the Box Office. The movie has registered 100% occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes in the morning and matinee shows across the country on the first day. Trade analyst feel that it will set a new records at both domestic and international collection centres.

On his Twitter page, well-known Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh writes, "#SOTY morning shows are terrific... Great start." He adds, "SOTY embarks on a terrific start in Overseas too. Purely on the strength of KJo and Dharma, collects AED 350,000 in UAE on Thu. Super!"

Another noted trade expert Komal Nahta ‏feels that Student of the Year will become a blockbuster. On his Twitter page, the trade analyst writes, "This frm Bihar exhibtor Vishek:Patna Ranchi Jamshdpur 100pc opening for SOTY.terrific reports.family audience will catch on.BLOCKBUSTER (sic)."
