Kareena
Kapoor's
latest
solo
movie
Heroine
has
concluded
the
first
weekend
with
a
decent
collection
at
the
Indian
Box
Office.
The
Madhur
Bhandarkar
directed
film
was
expected
to
break
the
three
day
collection
record
of
Vidya
Balan's
The
Dirty
Picture.
But
its
business
was
affected
by
Ranbir
Kapoor's
last
week
release
Barfi
and
South
Indian
horror
flick
Charulatha
starring
Priyamani.
Heroine
opened
to
a
good
response
at
the
domestic
Box
Office
with
its
occupancy
ranging
between
40%
and
60%
on
its
opening
day
of
release.
The
movie
collected
Rs
7.5
crores
nett
on
Friday.
Its
business
improved
on
the
following
days.
The
film
collected
Rs
8.5
crores
on
Saturday
and
Rs
9
crores
on
Sunday,
taking
its
first
weekend
total
Rs
25
crores
nett,
which
is
better
than
the
collection
of
Ek
Main
Aur
Ekk
Tu,
which
had
grossed
Rs
21.25
crores
nett
in
the
opening
weekend.
The
Dirty
Picture
is
the
highest
grosser
female
centric
movie,
which
had
raked
in
Rs
32.25
crore
nett
at
the
desi
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend
of
its
release.
However,
Kareena
Kapoor
has
four
blockbusters
movies
like
Bodyguard,
Ra.One,
3
Idiots
and
Golmaal
3.
So
trade
experts
predicted
that
her
latest
movie
Heroine
would
beat
the
record
of
The
Dirty
Picture.
But
it
has
failed
to
surpass
its
mark.
What
went
wrong
with
the
movie
Heroine?
Kareena
Kapoor
starrer
received
negative
reviews
from
film
critics
and
Ranbir
Kapoor's
previous
week's
release
Barfi,
which
has
positive
word
of
mouth,
cashed
in
on
its
weakness
in
North
India.
On
the
other
hand,
Charulatha,
which
was
released
in
four
languages
like
Telugu,
Tamil,
Kannada
and
Malayalam,
took
a
toll
on
the
collection
of
Heroine
in
South
India.
