Paan Singh Tomar beats LPNY at Box Office in first week

Irrfan Khan starrer Paan Singh Tomar has finally topped the Box Office in India in the first week. Tigmanshu Dhulia directed movie has collected Rs 7.54 crores nett at the collection centers, while its rival film London Paris New York grossed Rs 6.12 crore nett. The figures of this week's another release Will You Marry Me? are ignorable.

Due lack of promotion, Paan Singh Tomar opened to a poor opening at the Box Office on Friday. But the word of mouth and critics' positive reviews made it witnessed a spectacular increase in the following days. The break of its first week collection is Rs 85 lacs on Friday, Rs 1.4 cr on Saturday, 2 cr on Sunday, 80 lacs on Monday, 78 lacs on Tuesday, 72 lacs on Wednesday, 99.4 lacs on Thursday.

London Paris New York, which features Ali Zabbar and Aditi Rao Hydar in the leads, got a fare opening at multiplexes of urban centres, but its business remained dull in non-metro city. The movie raked in Rs 6.12 crore nett in the first week. But the business of Will You Marry Me? was affected by new release.

Meanwhile, previous week's release Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya is still going strong at the Box Office. Ritesh-Genelia starrer has raked in Rs 5.88 crore nett at collection centres in second week. But the trade analysts think that the business of these films will be affected by new release Kahaani as it is one of the most-awaited movies and is also a critically acclaimed.
