Ranbir
Kapoor
and
Priyanka
Chopra's
latest
outing
Barfi,
which
is
one
of
the
most-anticipated
Hindi
movies
of
2012,
has
opened
to
an
outstanding
response
at
the
Box
Office
on
the
first
day
of
its
release.
The
Anurag
Basu
directed
movie
is
expected
to
break
the
first
day
collection
record
of
Ranbir's
previous
film
Rockstar.
Barfi,
which
has
been
released
in
maximum
number
of
multiplexes,
has
received
an
earth-shattering
response.
The
romantic
film,
which
defies
stereotype
in
every
respect,
registered
an
average
of
85%
to
90%
occupancy
at
multiplexes
across
the
country.
Some
screens
were
reportedly
displaying
housefull
boards
in
the
morning
and
matinee
shows
on
its
opening
day.
The
makers
of
the
movie
Barfi
seem
to
be
targeting
multiplex
audience.
That's
why
they
have
released
the
film
on
just
300
single
screens
across
the
country.
It
has
also
garnered
a
very
good
response
at
the
single
screen,
where
it
has
got
about
70%
occupancy.
As
per
early
trends,
the
Friday
numbers
may
cross
Rs
10
crores
nett.
However,
Barfi
has
been
in
news
for
all
good
reasons
ever
since
it
hit
the
floor.
The
producers
of
the
movie
have
had
massive
promotions
and
Ranbir
Kapoor
and
Priyanka
Chopra
appeared
on
different
channels
to
promote
it.
Besides
this,
the
movie
has
bagged
rave
reviews
from
the
film
critics.
Now,
the
word
of
mouth
is
expected
to
boost
its
collection
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
