SS Rajamouli's Vikramarkudu has done wonderful business at the Tollywood Box Office. The Telugu movie was remade in Kannada, Tamil and Bengali, which has also done wonders at the collection centres. Recently, it has been remade in Hindi as Rowdy Rathore, which has scored century in just ten days. It is the next fastest and highest grosser Hindi film after Hrithik Roshan's Agneepath in 2012.
Rowdy Rathore, which released in theatres worldwide on June 1, received an excellent opening on Friday with its collection reaching Rs 15.10 crore nett on the first day. The movie continued its successful run on Saturday and Sunday at the Box Office and gathered Rs 48.5 crores nett in the first weekend. The breakup of its three day business Rs 15.10 cr on Fri, Rs 14.70 cr on Sat and Rs 18.50 cr on Sun.
Usually the collection of Hindi films goes down drastically on weekdays. But Rowdy Rathore managed to get a stong hold on its business. Although its collection dropped by almost 50%, it was far better than the business of other bigger grosser like Agneepath. The movie concluded the first week with earning of Rs 79.52 crores nett. The breakup of its weekday business is Rs 9.5 cr on Mon, Rs 8.12 cr on Tue, Rs 7.1 cr on Wed and Rs 6.5 cr on Thu.
Trade analyst had opined that the pace of Rowdy Rathore would be slowed down by new release Shanghai. But to their surprise, the film did exceptionally well at both single screens and multiplexes. In fact, it has beaten the new release at the Box Office. It has collected Rs 22 crores nett in second weekend, while Shanghai grossed Rs 12.1 crores nett. The breakup for its second weekend collection is Rs 5.1 cr on Fri, Rs 6.4 cr on Sat and Rs 10.5 cr on Sun.
Rowdy Rathore, which marks that Akshay Kumar's comeback to action film, has raked in Rs 101.5 crores nett at the Box Office. The movie has continued to do well in the weekdays. However, Akshay Kumar has already scored a century with Housefull 2. Now, it is his second century with Rowdy Rathore.
