Salman
Khan's
Ek
Tha
Tiger,
which
is
one
of
the
most-talked
about
movie
of
the
year,
has
opened
to
an
overwhelming
response
at
both
India
and
international
Box
Office.
The
romantic
action
thriller
has
become
the
fastest
100
crore
grosser
at
the
Indian
collection
centres
in
just
five
days.
With
this,
it
has
set
a
new
bench
mark
for
upcoming
biggies.
Before
its
release,
Ek
Tha
Tiger,
which
has
been
made
with
a
whopping
budget
of
Rs
90
crore,
had
set
new
records
by
earning
Rs
100
crores
from
its
rights.
The
satellite
rights
of
the
film
were
sold
for
Rs
45
crore,
while
its
rights
of
music
and
ringtones
fetched
Rs
6
crore.
Its
Indian
and
overseas
theatrical
rights
have
also
fetched
a
record
breaking
price.
The
Kabir
Khan
directed
movie
was
released
on
3,300
screens
in
India
alone
on
August
15
and
another
1,000
screens
in
the
international
market.
Ek
Tha
Tiger
registered
100%
occupancy
almost
everywhere.
The
film
raked
in
Rs
32.92
crores
at
the
domestic
Box
Office,
while
another
Rs
3+
crore
came
from
its
screening
overseas
on
the
first
day
of
its
release.
With
this,
it
shattered
all
previous
records
of
Bollywood.
But
the
business
of
Ek
Tha
Tiger
dropped
by
more
than
50%
on
the
second
day
and
it
continued
to
fall
for
the
next
two
days.
Its
collection
improved
on
Sunday.
Salman
Khan
and
Katrina
Kaif
starrer
collected
Rs
100
crore
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
five-day
extended
first
weekend.
The
movie
broke
the
first
week
record
of
Ra.One,
Agneepath,
Dabangg
and
Bodyguard
in
just
five
days.
Ek
Tha
Tiger
added
Rs
20.68
crore
on
Eid
to
its
six-day
total
collection
Rs
120.84
crores
nett.
But
the
film
once
again
witnessed
a
dip
in
its
business
on
Tuesday
and
it
is
expected
to
continue
to
fall
till
the
end
of
the
first
week.
Trade
analysts
predict
that
it
would
collect
Rs
145
to
150
crores
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
nine-day
extended
week.
This
much-hyped
movie
has
also
received
superb
response
at
the
collection
centres
in
foreign
countries
like
UK,
USA,
UAE,
Australia,
New
Zealand
and
Fiji.
The
movie
has
raked
in
Rs
22.84
crores
nett
at
the
overseas
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend
and
it
is
expected
to
score
a
total
of
Rs
28
crores
nett
in
the
first
week.
As
per
the
predictions,
it
is
likely
gross
Rs
170
to
175
crore
at
the
worldwide
Box
Office.
Trade
experts
feel
that
Ek
Tha
Tiger
would
cross
Rs
200
crore
mark
at
the
worldwide
Box
Office
in
the
second
weekend.
However,
the
movie
has
to
compete
with
one
of
the
most
awaited
movies,
Shirin
Farhad
Ki
Toh
Nikal
Padi
this
weekend.
It
should
be
seen
whether
it
will
surpass
this
big
bench
mark
in
the
second
weekend.
