Director
Ashwni
Dhir's
third
Hindi
movie
Son
Of
Sardar
starring
Ajay
Devgn,
Sanjay
Dutt
and
Sonakshi
Sinha
in
leads,
has
concluded
the
first
week
with
a
superb
business
collection
at
the
Box
Office
in
India.
The
romantic
comedy,
which
has
smashed
the
first
week
collection
record
of
Ajay's
last
release
Bol
Bachchan
in
the
first
weekend,
has
crossed
Rs
80
crore
mark
in
the
10-day-extended
first
week.
This
Diwali
witnessed
the
two
Hindi
releases
like
Jab
Tak
Hai
Jaan
and
Son
Of
Sardar
and
the
footfalls
got
divided
between
these
two.
Despite
this,
Son
Of
Sardar,
which
released
on
2,000+
screens
across
the
country
on
November
13,
opened
to
an
excellent
response
at
the
domestic
Box
Office
with
its
occupancy
ranging
between
90%
to
100%.
It
collected
Rs
10.72
crores
nett
on
the
first
day.
Son
Of
Sardar
showed
a
huge
growth
of
55%
in
its
business
on
Wednesday.
But
it
had
a
steep
fall
on
Thursday
and
Friday
due
to
busy
days
for
colleges
and
offices.
The
movie
was
expected
to
show
a
big
jump
over
the
weekend.
However,
Bal
Thackeray's
death
took
a
toll
on
its
business
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
The
Ajay-Sanjay-Sonakshi
starrer
collected
Rs
66.02
crores
nett
at
the
domestic
Box
Office
in
the
six-day
extended
opening
weekend.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
10.72
cr
on
Tue,
Rs
16.21
cr
on
Wed,
Rs
12.22
cr
on
Thu,
Rs
10.12
cr
on
Fri,
Rs
8.50
cr
on
Sat
and
Rs
8.25
cr
on
Sun.
Son
Of
Sardar
showed
a
further
drop
of
50%
in
its
collection
at
the
desi
Box
Office
on
Monday
and
its
business
continued
to
dip
throughout
the
week.
But
interestingly,
its
collection
was
much
better
than
that
of
Jab
Tak
Hai
Jaan
on
a
few
weekdays.
The
romantic
comedy
has
added
Rs
18.17
crores
to
its
10-day-extended
first
week
total
Rs
84.95
crores
nett.
Its
weekdays'
breakup
is
Rs
4.75
cr
on
Mon,
Rs
4.82
cr
on
Tue,
Rs
4.45
cr
on
Wed
and
Rs
4.15
cr
on
Thu.
However,
Son
Of
Sardar,
which
had
huge
hype
and
massive
promotions
prior
its
release,
was
expected
to
surpass
Rs
100
crore
mark
at
the
domestic
Box
Office
in
the
first
week.
But
it
has
failed
to
do
so
and
it
still
need
Rs
15
crores
to
cross
this
mark.
Since
there
are
no
big
Bollywood
releases
on
this
Friday,
this
movie
will
achieve
this
magic
figure
in
the
second
weekend.
