Mohit
Suri's
eighth
directorial
venture
Aashiqui
2
starring
newcomers
in
leads,
has
received
massive
response
over
the
weekend.
Although
Iron
Man
3
(IM3)
gave
it
a
big
competition,
the
Aditya
Roy
Kapur
and
Shraddha
Kapoor
starrer
has
done
a
record-breaking
collection
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
three
days.
But
the
movie
has
landed
in
the
second
place,
while
the
Iron
Man
3
topped
the
domestic
business
chart.
The
much-hyped
and
much
awaited
movie
Aashiqui
2,
which
has
been
made
with
a
medium
budget,
opened
to
a
bumper
start
at
the
domestic
Box
Office.
The
pre-release
hype
of
the
movie
drove
the
young
audience
crazily
towards
theatres
and
it
registered
fantastic
occupancy
in
mass-dominated
circuits,
but
its
business
remained
low
in
metros.
It
was
affected
by
Iron
Man
3.
The
collection
of
Aashiqui
2
was
improved
by
12%
growth
on
Saturday
and
20%
on
Sunday.
The
low-cost
movie
became
a
smash
hit
in
just
three
days.
It
has
collected
approximately
Rs
20.50
crores
nett
at
the
domestic
Box
Office
in
its
opening
weekend.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
6.25
cr
on
Fri,
Rs
6.75
cr
on
Sat
and
Rs
7.50
cr
on
Sun.
Whereas
Hollywood
movie
Iron
Man
3,
the
latest
installment
in
the
Iron
Man
series,
has
collected
Rs
22+
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend
of
its
release.
But
it
has
failed
to
beat
the
record
of
The
Amazing
Spider
Man,
which
holds
highest
grosser
English
movie
with
its
collection
Rs
29.10
crores
nett
in
India
in
the
first
weekend.
