Aashiqui 2, Iron Man 3 have bumper opening at Box Office

It's a great Friday for the Hindi film industry as solo big release Aashiqui 2 starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and newcomer Shraddha Kapoor in leads, has started with a bang at the Indian Box Office. Despite getting tough competition from much-awaited Hollywood film Iron Man 3, the Mohit Suri-directed romantic action film is doing a good business. Trade experts say that it would set a new record.

Aashiqui 2 registered very good occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes in the morning show. Its response went stronger across various centres in noon shows. Its business witnessed an upward trend at mass-dominated stations. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Aashiqui2 Delhi, Indore, Jaipur morning shows start with a bang!" He added, "Even in mass-dominated centres, the start of #Aashiqui2 is superb. Collections rising with each show!"

Meanwhile, Iron Man 3, the latest movie in the Iron Man series, which has released in more than 1,000 screens, has fetched a bumper opening in many urban centres. The movie is running neck to neck with Aashiqui 2 in some other centres. Trade experts feel that it will set a record for Hollywood films. On his Twitter page, Taran Adarsh writes "#Aashiqui2 and #IronMan3 are neck to neck. At some, A2 is leading, at some IM3. One of those rare Fridays when 2 films have opened well."
