Hindi
movie
Himmatwala
starring
Ajay
Devgn
and
Tamanna
Bhatia
in
leads,
has
done
a
decent
collection
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
on
the
first
day.
The
Sajid
Khan
directed
flick
has
beaten
the
opening
day
record
of
Ajay's
last
release
Son
of
Sardar.
But
the
film
was
expected
to
do
much
better
performance
as
it
was
solo
release
on
this
Friday.
Himmatwala,
which
is
a
remake
of
the
1983
action
romance
film
with
the
same
name,
is
a
most-hyped
Hindi
movie,
which
had
massive
promotions.
Moreover,
it
was
the
single
release
on
Good
Friday
holiday.
Hence,
it
was
expected
to
start
with
a
bang
and
set
a
new
record
at
the
domestic
Box
Office.
But
Himmatwala
received
an
average
response
at
the
ticket
counters
on
Friday.
The
Ajay
Devgn
and
Tamanna
starrer
registered
very
good
amount
of
occupancy
at
single
screens
especially
in
mass
oriented
circuits
like
UP,
Bihar,
Gujarat,
CP,
CI
and
Rajasthan.
But
its
business
was
very
low
in
multiplexes.
It
has
collected
Rs
12
crores
nett
at
the
domestic
Box
Office
on
its
first
day
of
release.
However,
Ajay's
previous
movie
Son
of
Sardar
had
hit
the
screens
on
Diwali
holiday.
Despite
having
a
clash
with
Shahrukh
Khan's
Jab
Tak
Hai
Jaan,
the
movie
had
collected
Rs
10.72
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
on
its
opening
day.
Himmatwala
has
now
smashed
this
record,
but
it
is
not
upto
the
mark
business
and
it
was
expected
to
do
even
better
business
than
this,
feel
trade
analysts.
