Akshay
Kumar's
Boss
has
got
superb
opening
at
the
Indian
Box
Office,
but
turned
out
to
be
another
big
disaster
after
Ranbir
Kapoor's
Besharam.
Considering
its
screen
count
and
number
of
days,
its
business
was
expected
to
be
very
high,
but
it
has
failed
to
cross
Rs
50
crore
mark
in
the
domestic
market
in
the
nine-day-extended
first
week.
It
has
also
failed
to
beat
the
record
of
Akki's
Rowdy
Rathore,
which
had
much
better
collection
in
seven
days.
Having
released
in
2,750
theaters
in
domestic
market
on
Wednesday
(October
16),
Boss
opened
to
a
fantastic
response
at
the
Indian
Box
Office.
The
movie,
which
had
a
good
amount
of
advance
ticket
booking,
registered
85%
to
95%
occupancy
in
both
single
screens
and
multiplexes.
It
ran
houseful
in
many
centres.
It
got
positive
reviews
from
both
film
critics
and
viewers.
A
strong
word
of
mouth
was
expected
to
take
its
business
upwards
over
the
weekend.
But
Boss
witnessed
considerable
amount
of
drop
on
Thursday
and
its
business
continued
to
slip
down
over
the
weekend.
On
Monday,
it
almost
reached
80%
drop
and
maintained
rock-steady
on
the
following
weekdays.
Boss
has
collected
Rs
40.75
crores
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
its
five-day-extended
first
weekend
and
Rs
9
crores
on
the
weekdays.
Its
nine-day-extended
first
week
domestic
collection
stands
at
Rs
49.30
crores
nett.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
12.75
cr
on
Wed,
Rs
8
cr
on
Thu,
Rs
6
cr
on
Fri,
Rs
6
cr
on
Sat,
Rs
8
cr
on
Sun,
Rs
2.5
on
Mon
and
Rs
2.3
cr
on
Tue,
Rs
2
cr
on
Wed
and
Rs
1.75
cr
on
Thu.
However,
Rowdy
Rathore,
which
has
been
the
biggest
opener
for
Akshay
Kumar,
had
collected
Rs
79.52
crores
nett
from
2,500
screens
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
(seven
days)
first
week.
Whereas
Boss,
which
had
more
screen
count
and
two
extra
days,
was
expected
to
break
its
opening
record,
but
it
has
fallen
short
with
a
huge
margin.
