Bollywood's Rs 100 crore movie club list

At the initial period of Bollywood, movies used to release in a limited number of screens, and every filmmakers and stars were competing to run their films for 50 days in theatres. Gradually, this trend changed to successful run of 100 days at the Box Office. But the volume of release went up with the increasing number of screens due to the establishment of multiplexes. Aamir Khan's Ghajani, which scored a century at the Indian Box Office, set the new rules for this game plan at the Box Office.

Ghajani started Rs 100 crore movie club in 2008. This elite group includes Hindi films that have earned Rs 100 crore at the Indian Box Office after paying entertainment tax. This amount does not include their collection in international market. It also does not take revenue from satellite, music and digital rights into account.

After Ghajani, no other Bollywood movie could enter this club in the following year, and it was Aamir Khan himself who added another movie (3 Idiots) to this list in 2009. Then it became matter of star power, and Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn entered this club with their films like Dabangg and Golmaal 3, respectively, crossing this mark in 2010. This number went on increasing from two movies to five in 2011 and nine in 2012. So far, two Hindi films have joined this club in 2013.

Today, there are a total of 20 Hindi movies in list of the 100-Crore Club. Once again there is a change in the game plan. Yes! Salman Khan has rewritten the rules of the game with his 2012 Blockbuster grossing Rs 100 crore at the domestic Box Office in just five days. With this, it has become fastest 100 crore grosser movie.

We bring you the list of Bollywood Rs 100 crore movies and their day-wise breakup. This list is in the chronological order. Continue to see it in slide show.
