Bombay Talkies (3 days) first weekend collection at Box Office

Mumbai: Bollywood movie Bombay Talkies starring Rani Mukherjee, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in leads, opened to lukewarm response, but showed ample growth over the weekend. Anurag Kashyap's latest directorial venture has done decent collection at the Indian Box Office in the first weekend and landed in the second spot, while another new release Shootout At Wadala topped the business chart.

The makers of Bombay Talkies wanted to target the multiplexes audience. So the movie had a limited release across the country. With the film getting positive reviews from film critics, its business grew up during evening and night shows on Friday. The movie collected Rs 1.25 crores nett at the domestic Box Office on the first day.

Bombay Talkies showed ample growth on Saturday and its occupancy was more than double of Friday at several places. The movie registered very good footfalls in all four shows. The film witnessed further growth on Sunday. It has collected Rs 1.85 crores on Saturday and Rs 2.05 crores on Sunday.

However, Bombay Talkies, which has been made with a minimum budget (Rs 6 crores), has collected Rs 5.15 crores at the domestic Box Office in the first weekend. The movie has bagged approximately Rs 3.5 crores from its various rights. Considering its budget, the movie is running with a good profit.
