Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express starring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in leads, has created History with its collection at the Indian Box Office. Ever since it hit the screens on August 9, the movie has been setting one or the other record with each passing day. The biggest record of the action comedy entertainer is that it has become the all time highest grosser in the history of Indian cinema.

beating
the
record
of
Salman
Khan's
Ek
Tha
Tiger.
Later,
it
also
became
the
highest
grosser
on
Day
2
(Rs
28.05
crores)
and
Day
3
(Rs
32.5
crores),
the
highest
grosser
in
first
weekend
(Rs
100.42
crores)
and
the
fastest
100
crore
grosser
(four
days).

Chennai
Express
became
the
highest
grosser
in
the
first
week
with
its
domestic
total
Rs
156.70
crores.
It
also
became
the
fourth
all
time
highest
grosser
in
just
seven
days.
In the second week, Chennai Express collected Rs 43.85 crores at the Indian Box Office, taking its domestic total to Rs 200.55 crores. It has became the fastest Rs 200 crores grosser (14 days). On the 15th day, the movie added Rs 2.12 crores to its grand total Rs 202.67 crores nett. With this, it has become the all time highest grosser in Hindi cinema, beating the record of Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots, which had raked in Rs 202 crores in its life time.

Aamir Khan, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi starrer 3 Idiots, which released in theatres on December 25, 2009, surpassed Rs 100 crores at the Indian Box Office in nine days. In its life time, it has collected Rs 202.47 crores nett and it is in the second place in the list of all time highest grosser Hindi movies.
Ek Tha Tiger
Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Ek Tha Tiger, which had hit the screens on August 15, 2012, has crossed Rs 100 crore mark in five days and its total collection stands at Rs 198.78 crores nett. Today, the film is in the third place in the list of all time highest grosser Hindi movies.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
Released on May 31, 2013, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani crossed Rs 100 crore mark in seven days. With its life-time collection Rs 188.57 crores nett, the movie is in the fourth slot in the list of all time highest grosser Hindi movies.

Released on December 21, 2012, Dabangg 2 surpassed Rs 100 crore mark in six days. The Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer has raked in Rs 155.00 crores nett in its life time. It is in the fifth place in the list of all time highest grosser Hindi movies.

Salman Khan's Bodyguard, which released in theatres on August 31, 2011, crossed Rs 100 crore make in seven days. With its life time domestic total Rs 148.86 crores, the film is in the sixth place in the list of all time highest grosser Hindi movies.

Salman Khan's Dabangg crossed Rs 100 crore mark in 10 days. With its life time domestic total Rs 138.88 crores, the film is in the seventh slot in the list of all time highest grosser Hindi movies.
