Chennai Express (21 Days) Third Week Collection At Box Office

Chennai Express, Rohit Shetty's next biggest directorial venture after Singham, has maintained rock-steady at the Indian Box Office in the third week. While the new release Madras Cafe topped the domestic collection chart, the Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer has landed in the second place, beating the one-week-old Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara.

In the second week, Chennai Express had lost out many screens to Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara. Despite giving few screens to Madras Cafe, the action comedy entertainer remained first choice for the mass masala lovers in the third week. Its entertainment quotient helped to keep the bells ringing at the Indian Box Office again.


When compared to its second Friday, Chennai Express witnessed more than 60% drop in its business on its third Friday, but the film picked up very well over the weekend and maintained rock-steady on weekdays too. The movie has collected Rs 10.48 crores in the weekend and Rs 7.58 crores on weekdays. Its breakup is Rs 2.12 cr on Fri, Rs 3.61 cr on Sat, Rs 4.75 cr on Sun, Rs 1.63 cr on Mon, Rs 1.74 cr on Tue, Rs 2.46 cr on Wed and Rs 1.56 cr on Thu.

Chennai Express has collected a total of Rs 18.06 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in the third week. Now, its 21-day domestic collection stands at Rs 218.42 crores nett. With Satyagraha hit the screens across the country today, it should be seen whether it would continue its dream run at the Box Office in the fourth week.
