Ek Thi Daayan first weekend collection at overseas Box Office

Emraan Hashmi's latest outing Ek Thi Daayan has got dull opening in the international markets. Despite not having any big competitor, the much-hyped Hindi movie has done an average collection at the overseas Box Office in the first weekend. Although it has topped the international chart, its business is much lower than that of last week's release, medium budget movie Nautanki Saala in a few countries.

Ek Thi Daayan, which has topped the UK chart, has collected Rs 25.14 lakhs (£30,587) from 22 screens at the UK Box Office in its first weekend. Its business is poorer than 15-day-old Punjabi film Sadda Haq, which has collected £20,409 from 10 screens in the third weekend, taking its 18-day total Rs 1.89 crores (£2,29,447).

While Telugu movie Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde topped the American business chart, Ek Thi Daayan has landed in the second place. In its opening weekend, the Hindi film has collected Rs 35.71 lakhs ($65,857) from 48 screens at the USA Box Office. Its per screen average is not even half of the Telugu film, which has raked in Rs 80.03 lakhs from 23 screens in the country.

UAE is the only country where Ek Thi Daayan has done wonderful business. The film has collected Rs 94.79 lakhs ($1,75,000) in its opening weekend. It has collected Rs 9.93 lakhs (A$17,871) from 6 screens in Australia and Rs 3.01 lakhs (FJD 9,812) from 2 screens in Fiji Box Office. It has grossed Rs 1.68 crores nett at the international Box Office in its opening weekend.
