Mumbai:
Emraan
Hashmi
and
Vidya
Balan's
latest
combo
movie
Ghanchakkar
has
not
got
an
earth-shattering
response
like
their
last
outing
The
Dirty
Picture.
Although
the
movie
has
done
a
decent
collection
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
on
its
opening
day,
it
has
failed
to
smash
the
first
day
business
record
of
the
latter.
Emraan-Vidya's
last
outing
The
Dirty
Picture
was
a
huge
hit
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
and
its
success
has
added
lot
of
hype
and
expectations
to
their
next
combo
movie
Ghanchakkar.
Trade
experts
had
predicted
that
it
would
get
an
overwhelming
response
at
the
ticket
counters
and
break
the
record
of
their
previous
outing.
Surprisingly,
Ghanchakkar
opened
to
a
lackluster
response
at
single
screens
in
morning
and
afternoon
shows
on
Friday.
Although
the
film
registered
slightly
better
occupancy
in
multiplexes
when
compared
to
single
screens,
its
overall
business
was
below
the
mark.
However,
the
movie
picked
up
very
well
in
the
evening
and
night
shows.
It
has
collected
Rs
7.2
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
on
the
first
day
of
its
release.
But
Ghanchakkar
has
failed
to
shatter
the
opening
day
record
of
The
Dirty
Picture,
which
had
raked
in
Rs
9.25
crore
net
at
the
domestic
Box
Office
on
the
first
day
of
its
release.
Trade
experts
feel
the
movie
will
witness
big
leap
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
It
should
be
seen
whether
it
will
be
able
to
break
the
first
weekend
record
of
the
latter.
