The
much-hyped
Hindi
movie
Himmatwala,
which
released
on
a
grand
scale
in
the
international
market,
has
done
an
average
business
at
the
Overseas
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend.
Although
it
did
not
have
any
big
rival
either
from
Bollywood
or
any
other
regional
film
industries,
the
Ajay
Devgn
and
Tamanna
starrer
has
failed
to
take
off
the
way
a
biggie
should.
The
negative
feedback
is
the
reason
for
its
failure.
Himmatwala
opened
to
an
average
response
at
the
international
collection
centres.
The
film
was
expected
to
show
a
big
jump,
but
its
business
dipped
considerably
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
When
compared
to
all
other
key
markets,
the
movie
has
done
good
collection
in
UAE.
It
has
collected
Rs
1.77
crores
($3,25,509)
at
the
UAE
Box
Office
in
its
first
weekend
and
some
centres
are
yet
to
report
about
its
collection.
Whereas
the
business
of
Himmatwala
is
quite
average
in
other
key
international
markets
-
UK,
USA,
Australia
and
New
Zealand.
The
Ajay
Devgn
and
Tamanna
starrer
has
raked
in
Rs
98.51
lakhs
(£1,19,518)
from
82
screens
in
UK,
Rs
1.07
crores
($1,97,770)
from
99
screens
in
USA,
Rs
35.09
lakhs
(A$62,152)
from
16
screens
in
Australia
and
Rs
16.15
lakhs
(NZ$35,584)
from
9
screens
in
New
Zealand
in
its
opening
weekend.
However,
Ajay
Devgn's
last
release
Son
of
Sardar,
which
clashed
with
Shahrukh
Khan's
Jab
Tak
Hain
Jaan,
had
collected
Rs
10.79
crores
nett
($1.96
million)
at
the
international
collection
centres
in
six-day-extended
first
weekend.
Whereas
Himmatwala,
which
did
not
have
any
competitor,
has
failed
to
collect
even
half
of
the
former's
collection.
It
has
raked
in
a
total
of
Rs
4.34
crores
nett
at
the
overseas
Box
Office
in
its
opening
weekend.
