Jolly LLB, 3G, MDKM first weekend collection at Box Office

Mumbai: Hindi movie Jolly LLB starring Bomani Irani and Arshad Warsi in leads, is leading the race at the Indian Box Office in the first weekend. The movie has topped the domestic collection chart, while other new releases like Mere Dad Ki Maruti (MDKM) and 3G landed in the second and third position, respectively.

All three new films opened to a poor response with their occupancy ranging between 15% and 20% in the morning and matinee shows on Friday. But Jolly LLB showed a substantial growth in the evening and night shows, when compared to the growth of Mere Dad Ki Maruti and 3G at the ticket counters across the country.

The good word of mouth further played its magic for the film Jolly LLB, which witnessed tremendous growth with its occupancy ranging between 40% and 60% at single screens and multiplexes on Saturday and Sunday. The movie has collected Rs 12.51 crores nett at the domestic Box Office in the first weekend. Its breakup is Rs 3.12 cr on Fri, Rs 4.23 cr on Sat and Rs 5.16 cr on Sun.

Whereas Mere Dad Ki Maruti did an average performance on Friday. But it witnessed an upward trend in North India on Saturday and Sunday with its occupancy ranging between 40% and 50% at single screens and multiplexes. The movie has collected Rs 5.01 crores nett at the domestic Box Office in the first weekend. Its breakup is Rs 1.03 cr on Fri, Rs 1.78 cr on Sat and Rs 2.2 cr on Sun.

Another new Hindi release 3G featuring Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonal Chauhan in leads, turned out to be a mishap no less as the confusing narrative and unimaginable storyline did it in. The movie opened to below average response and it did not have any big growth on the following days. It has collected approximately Rs 4.85 crores nett at the domestic Box Office in the first weekend.
