Mumbai:
Bollywood
movie
Lootera
has
done
wonderful
collection
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend,
beating
another
new
release
Policegiri,
which
struggled
to
grew
up
at
the
ticket
counters
across
the
country.
The
Ranveer
Singh
and
Sonakshi
Sinha
starrer
has
topped
the
weekend
business,
while
the
Sanjay
Dutt
and
Prachi
Desai
starrer
graced
the
second
place.
Lootera
opened
to
an
average
response
with
its
occupancy
ranging
between
30%
and
35%
in
multiplexes
across
all
metro
cities
on
Friday,
but
it
had
poor
amount
of
footfalls
in
single
screens.
The
movie
showed
an
escalation
in
its
business
over
the
weekend.
It
witnessed
growth
of
25%
to
30%
on
Saturday
and
increased
again
by
30%
on
Sunday.
It
has
collected
approximately
Rs
18.5
crores
nett
at
the
domestic
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
5.15
cr
on
Fri,
Rs
6
cr
on
Sat
and
Rs
7.35
cr
on
Sun.
Whereas
Policegiri,
which
was
rejected
by
the
movie
buffs
due
to
predictable
plot,
debuted
with
an
average
occupancy
30%
in
single
screens
and
10%
in
multiplexes
across
the
country.
Due
to
its
masala
quotient,
the
movie
witnessed
a
little
growth
in
the
single
screens
of
mass-dominated
circuits
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
It
has
collected
Rs
10
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
2.50
cr
on
Fri,
Rs
3.15
cr
on
Sat
and
Rs
4.35
cr
on
Sun.
But
trade
experts
feel
that
the
performance
of
Policegiri,
which
has
been
made
with
a
whopping
budget,
has
been
much
below
the
expected
mark.
If
it
has
to
recover
its
production
cost,
the
Sanjay
Dutt
and
Prachi
Desai
must
hold
well
at
the
ticket
counters
on
the
weekdays.
Let
us
see
whether
it
will
succeed
in
rocking
at
the
Box
Office
or
not.
