Phata Poster Nikla Hero (7 Days) First Week Collection At Box Office

The much-hyped and highly-anticipated movie Phata Poster Nikla Hero, which hit the marque on September 20, has concluded the first week with decent collection at the Indian Box Office. But its business is not up to the mark. The Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz starrer was expected to surpass Rs 50 crore mark in seven days, but it has failed to do so.

Phata Poster Nikla Hero debuted with a decent response with its occupancy ranging between 45% and 50% on Friday. Its business improved on Saturday and Sunday, but not up to the expected level. The movie collected Rs 22 crore nett at the Indian Box Office in the first weekend. Its breakup is Rs 6 cr on Fri, Rs 7 cr on Sat and Rs 8.25 cr on Sun.

The Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz starrer had 45% dip in its business on Monday and it maintained rock-steady throughout the week. On the weekdays, Phata Poster Nikla Hero has collected Rs 10.25 crores nett at the Indian Box Office, taking its first week domestic total to Rs 31.50 crores nett. Its breakup is Rs 3.15 cr on Mon, Rs 2.75 cr on Tue, Rs 2.35 cr on Wed and Rs 2 cr on Thu.

Shahid Kapoor's previous movies like Mausam and Teri Meri Kahaani had struggled to cross Rs 30 crore mark in the domestic market. Although Phata Poster Nikla Hero has beaten their seven day collection record, trade analyst feel that its collection is not up to the mark. Since there are no big releases this weekend, it is expected to do well in the second week.
