Raanjhanaa first weekend collection at overseas Box Office

Mumbai: Hindi movie Raanjhanaa, which has been directed by Anand L Rai, opened to a good response at the overseas Box Office and picked up very well over the weekend. Despite facing tough competition from three week-old film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, the Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor starrer has done superb business and topped the international collection chart in its opening weekend.

Raanjhanaa released in four key international markets like UK, USA, UAE and Australia, and has done wonderful collection in all these country over the weekend. The Dhanush and Sonam starrer has raked in Rs 65.77 lakhs (£71,708) from 43 screens at the UK Box Office in its opening weekend.

In the first weekend, Raanjhanaa has collected Rs 2.47 crores ($4,14,211) from 102 screens at the USA Box Office. The film has collected Rs 1.14 crores (AED 7,00,000) at UAE Box Office in its opening weekend. It has grossed Rs 25.45 lakhs (A$46,394) from 10 screens at the Australia Box Office in four days.

However, Raanjhanaa, which had created lot of curiosity with its promos, is successful in impressing the international viewers. The movie has collected a total of Rs 5.07 crores ($8,50,000) at the overseas Box Office in its opening weekend. Trade experts say that it would surpass $1 million mark today.
