Amitabh
Bachchan,
Ajay
Devgn
and
Kareena
Kapoor
starrer
Satyagraha
has
concluded
the
first
week
with
excellent
collection
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
first
week.
The
Prakash
Jha-directed
political
thriller,
which
has
topped
the
domestic
business
chart,
has
surpassed
Rs
50
crore
mark
in
seven
days.
It
has
also
beaten
the
record
of
Jha's
previous
hit
Raajneeti,
which
had
collected
Rs
54.75
crore
in
seven
days.
Satyagraha,
which
released
in
2,500
screens
on
August
30,
had
a
superb
opening
in
the
domestic
market.
Its
business
went
upwards
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
The
movie
fared
well
on
weekdays
too.
When
compared
to
its
first
day
collection,
the
film
showed
55%
drop
on
Monday
and
it
continued
to
decline
on
the
following
days.
The
most-talked-about
political
thriller
has
collected
Rs
55.43
crores
nett
(Rs
39.12
cr
in
weekend
and
Rs
16.31
cr
on
weekdays)
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
first
week.
Considering
its
genre,
trade
experts
feel
that
it
is
a
very
good
business.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
11.21
cr
on
Fri,
Rs
13.08
cr
on
Sat,
Rs
14.83
cr
on
Sun,
Rs
5.07
cr
on
Mon,
Rs
4.11
cr
on
Tue,
Rs
3.62
cr
on
Wed
and
Rs
3.51
cr
on
Thu.
However,
two
new
much-hyped
movies
like
Shuddh
Desi
Romance
and
Zanjeer
have
hit
the
screens
today.
Both
belong
to
different
genres
-
one
is
youth
centric,
while
other
is
action
thriller.
It
should
be
seen
whether
they
will
slow
down
the
collection
of
Satyagraha
in
its
second
week.
