Shuddh
Desi
Romance
(SDR)
is
having
an
edge
over
the
much-talked
about
remake
of
Amitabh
Bachchan's
1973
film
Zanjeer
in
the
domestic
market.
The
Sushant
Singh
Rajput
and
Parineeti
Chopra
starrer
has
done
a
tremendous
business
in
a
limited
number
of
screens
at
the
Indian
Box
Office.
But
despite
having
double
amount
of
screen
count,
the
Ram
Charan
Teja
and
Priyanka
Chopra
starrer
has
fallen
back
in
the
race
with
a
huge
margin.
Released
in
1050
screens
on
September
6,
Shuddh
Desi
Romance
opened
to
a
decent
response
with
its
occupancy
ranging
between
35%
-
40%
in
the
morning
shows
on
Friday.
But
the
youth-centric
film
picked
up
very
well
in
later
shows,
taking
its
first
day
collection
to
Rs
6.45
crores.
The
movie
showed
further
improvements
on
Saturday
with
its
business
reaching
approximately
Rs
7.15
crores.
The
Sushant
and
Parineeti
starrer
has
collected
Rs
13.60
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
two
days.
Whereas
Zanjeer,
which
released
in
2,086
screens
in
the
country,
opened
to
dismal
response
in
morning
shows
on
Friday
and
it
did
not
show
much
difference
in
its
business
in
the
later
shows.
It
collected
Rs
3.58
crores
in
the
domestic
market
on
the
first
day.
Instead
of
showing
growth,
the
movie
dropped
considerably
showed
little
growth
on
Saturday
with
its
collection
reaching
Rs
2.89
crores.
The
Ram
Charan
and
Priyanka
starrer
has
collected
Rs
6.47
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office.
What
surprises
many
in
B-Town
is
that
Shuddh
Desi
Romance
has
collected
Rs
6.45
crores
from
1050
screens
in
one
day,
while
Zanjeer
took
two
days
to
collect
the
same
amount
from
2085
screens
in
domestic
market.
The
performance
of
the
most-hyped
remake
has
come
as
big
disappointment
for
its
producers.
