2 States (10 Days) 2nd Weekend Collection At Box Office

Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer 2 States, which hit the screens on April 18, has continued to keep the bells ringing at the ticket counters across India in the second week. Despite facing tough competition from the new releases, the film has done superb collection at the Indian Box Office in the second weekend and topped the domestic business chart. It has crossed Rs 75 crore mark in 10 days.

Undeterred by new Bollywood releases Kaanchi, The Revolver Rani and Samrat and Co, 2 States continued its rocking run on the eighth day. When compared to its opening day collection, the Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala-produced film showed more than 72% drop on its second Friday. But cashing in on the negative response for new films, the movie become the first choice for film goers on Saturday and Sunday.

Released in 2000 screens in the domestic market, 2 States had collected Rs 60.77 crores nett in the first week. In its second weekend, the film has raked in Rs 15.53 crores nett at the Indian Box Office, taking its 10-day domestic total to Rs 76.30 crores nett. Its breakup is Rs 3.51 cr on Fri, Rs 5.55 cr on Sat and Rs 6.47 cr on Sun.

In just 10 days, 2 States has beaten the life-time collection record of Arjun Kapoor's previous release Gunday and become the second highest grosser of 2014 after Salman Khan's Jai Ho. Now, the movie is fast heading towards Rs 100 crore mark.
