2 States (17 Days) Third Weekend Collection At Box Office

Several Bollywood movies have hit the screens across India in the last couple of weeks, but two-week-old release 2 States is undeterred and has maintained rock-steady at the ticket counters in the domestic market. The movie based on Chetan Bhagat's novel with the same name has done fantastic collection at the Indian Box Office 17 days. With this film, Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are set to score first Rs 100 crore grosser in its third week.

Abhishek Varman-directed 2 States had collected Rs 60.77 crores in the first week and Rs 26.54 crores in the second week, taking its 14-day domestic total Rs 87.31 crores nett. Despite facing tough competition from new releases Purani Jeans, Kahin Hai Mera Pyar, Angry Young Man and Kya Dilli Kya Lahore, the Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhat starrer once again kept the bells ringing at the India Box Office in the third week.

In its second week, 2 States had witnessed 60% dip in its business. The movie further dropped by another 40% on its third Friday. However, its collection went up on Saturday and Sunday. In its third weekend, the film has raked in Rs 7.52 crores nett at the Indian Box Office, taking its 17-day domestic total to Rs 94.83 crores. Its breakup is Rs 1.67 cr on Fri, Rs 2.72 cr on Sat and Rs 3.13 cr on Sun.

The movie 2 States need Rs 5.17 crores to cross Rs 100 crore mark in the domestic market. Considering its current pace at the ticket counters, trade experts feel that the movie would achieve this magical number by the end of its third week and become the second Rs 100 crores grosser as well as the second highest grosser of 2014.
