2 States (7 Days) First Week Collection At Box Office

Bollywood movie 2 States starring Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the leads, has concluded the first week with superb collection at the Indian Box Office. Having crossed Rs 60 crore mark in seven days, the Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala-produced film has turned out to the second biggest money spinner of 2014, after Jai Ho. It has landed in the fourth place in the list of highest grosser movies of the year.

Having created lot of positive buzz, prior its release, 2 States graced 2000 screens on April 18 and registered 80% and 95% occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes on Friday. The word of mouth was expected to take its business upwards on Saturday, but it could not. The movie showed growth on Sunday, but it was not up to the expected mark. It did decent collection in the domestic market in the first weekend.

The business of 2 States dropped by more than 50% on Monday. The movie maintained rock-steady on the following weekdays. It has collected Rs 60.77 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in the first week. Its breakup is Rs 12.42 cr on Fri, Rs 12.13 cr on Sat, Rs 13.51 cr on Sun, Rs 6.21 cr on Mon, Rs 5.63 cr on Tue, Rs 5.36 cr on Wed and Rs 5.51 cr on Thu.

The film 2 States is now fast heading to reach Rs 100 crore mark at the Indian Box Office. However, trade experts predict that new Bollywood releases Kaanchi, The Revolver Rani and Samrat and Co, which have hit the screens today, will take a toll on its collection in its second week.
